### Elite Academy Employee Code of Ethics

At Elite Academy, we are committed to fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment. Our employees are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and respect. This Code of Ethics is designed to guide our staff in their roles and responsibilities, ensuring that all actions reflect the Academy’s values and mission.

#### 1. **Commitment to Excellence in Education**

  • Employees should strive to provide high-quality education that supports the academic and personal growth of each student.
  • Teachers and staff must engage in continuous professional development to stay informed about best practices and advancements in education.
  • Employees should demonstrate enthusiasm, curiosity, and dedication to nurturing student success.

#### 2. **Respect for Students**

  •  All employees must treat students with respect, dignity, and fairness, regardless of race, gender, religion, socio-economic status, or ability.
  • Employees should create a supportive and nurturing environment that promotes the physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being of students.
  • Confidentiality regarding students' personal and academic information must be maintained at all times.

#### 3. **Integrity and Honesty*

  • Employees must demonstrate honesty in all professional interactions, ensuring that all communication with students, parents, and colleagues is truthful and transparent.
  • Employees should refrain from engaging in any form of academic dishonesty, including plagiarism, falsifying grades, or cheating.
  • Personal conflicts of interest should be disclosed immediately, and employees should avoid situations that could undermine their impartiality.

#### 4. **Professionalism**

  - Employees should maintain a professional appearance, behavior, and attitude at all times.

   - Staff must adhere to the Academy’s policies and procedures and follow all applicable laws and regulations.

   - Employees must maintain punctuality and be reliable in their duties, ensuring that the educational experience is not disrupted by tardiness or absenteeism.

#### 5. **Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion**

  • Employees should promote an inclusive environment where all individuals feel valued and respected.
  • Discrimination, harassment, or any form of exclusion based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, or disability will not be tolerated.
  • Employees are encouraged to celebrate and respect the diversity of students and colleagues and to incorporate inclusive practices into their work.

  • Employees should work cooperatively with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support the success of students and the mission of the Academy.

  •  Staff should contribute to a positive school culture by sharing knowledge, resources, and strategies with fellow educators and staff.

  • Employees must ensure that the physical and emotional safety of students is a top priority.
  • Staff should take appropriate action to address bullying, harassment, or any behavior that negatively impacts the safety and well-being of students.
  • Employees should be familiar with and follow all health, safety, and emergency procedures, ensuring a secure environment for all.

#### 8. **Confidentiality and Privacy**

  • Employees must respect the confidentiality of all personal and academic information related to students, parents, and fellow employees.
  • Information related to students and staff should only be shared with authorized individuals or entities, and only when necessary and in accordance with applicable laws.

#### 9. **Social Media and Public Engagement**

  • Employees should be mindful of their conduct on social media and in public forums, understanding that their actions may reflect on Elite Academy.
  •  Professional conduct should be maintained both in person and online, and employees should avoid posting any content that could harm the reputation or values of the Academy.

#### 10. **Accountability and Responsibility**

  • Employees must be accountable for their actions and decisions, both in the classroom and as representatives of the Academy.
  • Staff should address concerns or violations of this Code of Ethics promptly and take responsibility for their actions.
  • Employees are encouraged to report any unethical behavior, discrimination, or violations of this code in a manner consistent with the Academy’s reporting policies.

#### 11. **Commitment to Professional Boundaries**

  •  Employees should maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students, ensuring that personal relationships do not interfere with their roles as educators.
  •  Personal interactions with students should remain appropriate and respectful, both on and off-campus.

#### 12. **Environmental Stewardship**

  • Employees are encouraged to promote sustainable practices and contribute to the Academy’s efforts to maintain an environmentally conscious campus.
  • Staff should be mindful of resource consumption, waste reduction, and the overall environmental impact of their activities

By adhering to these ethical principles, employees at Elite Academy contribute to the creation of an environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and personally. Our goal is to ensure that all actions taken are in the best interest of our students, the Academy community, and society at large.

Training Requirement All instructional personnel, educational support employees, and administrators are required as a condition of employment to complete training on these standards of ethical conduct.


Reporting Misconduct by Instructional Personnel and Administrators All employees, educational support employees, and administrators have an obligation to report misconduct by instructional personnel and school administrators that affects the health, safety, or welfare of a student. Examples of misconduct include obscene language, drug and alcohol use, disparaging comments, prejudice or bigotry, sexual innuendo, cheating or testing violations, physical aggression, and accepting or offering favors.

Reports of misconduct committed by administrators should be made to Ms. Henderson as well 

Legally sufficient allegations of misconduct by Florida certified educators will be reported to the Office of Professional Practices Services. Policies and procedures for reporting misconduct by instructional personnel or school administrators which affects the health, safety, or welfare of a student are posted on (i.e. bulletin board, front office, break room, etc.?)

Reporting Child Abuse, Abandonment or Neglect All employees and agents have an affirmative duty to report all actual or suspected cases of child abuse, abandonment, or neglect. Call 1-800-96-ABUSE or report online at: http://www.dcf.state.fl.us/abuse/report/.


Liability Protections Any person, official, or institution participating in good faith in any act authorized or required by law, or reporting in good faith any instance of child abuse, abandonment, or neglect to the department or any law enforcement agency, shall be immune from any civil or criminal liability that might otherwise result by reason of such action. (F.S. 39.203)


An employer who discloses information about a former or current employee to a prospective employer of the former or current employee upon request of the prospective employer or of the former or current employee is immune from civil liability for such disclosure or its consequences unless it is shown by clear and convincing evidence that the information disclosed by the former or current employer was knowingly false or violated any civil right of the former or current employee protected under F.S. Chapter 760. (F.S. 768.095)
